Alfonso Buzzio

Our beloved father, Alfonso Buzzio, passed on March 24 ^th , 2022 at the age of 85, after a hard-fought battle with cancer.  He was surrounded by his wife, children, and grandchildren until the end.

Born in Lima, Peru to Alfonso and Zoila Buzzio on March 13 ^th , 1937, he attended St. Augustine High School. He went on to marry his life partner, Ada Ricci on June 19 ^th , 1971 who he lovingly referred to as “Chiquita”.  As a Peruvian immigrant, Alfonso had a true passion for living a disciplined work ethic to provide the American dream for his wife and four children (Paola, Carla, Magali, & Alfonso Jr.).

After retirement, Alfonso could be found spending time with family and his six grandchildren, who were the apple of his eye.  He also enjoyed gardening, watching his favorite sport of futbol soccer on television, or attending sporting events for his many grandchildren.   He liked to stay active by walking and going to the gym and was a lifelong athlete; doing exercises till his final days of life. He also actively participated in monthly reunions with former soccer teammates from the years he spent playing with the “Incas Soccer Club”, a local league in Los Angeles. He was a good friend and kept in communication with many lifelong friends.

We will forever miss our Chueco, Papi and Nonno…..“Your presence, we miss, your memories we treasure, loving you always, forgetting you never.”

Nuestro querido padre, Alfonso Buzzio, falleció el 24 de Marzo de 2022 a la edad de 85 años, luego de una dura batalla contra el cáncer. Estuvo rodeado de su esposa, hijos y nietos hasta el final.

Nacido en Lima, Perú, hijo de Alfonso y Zoila Buzzio el 13 de Marzo de 1937, asistió a la escuela secundaria St. Augustine. Luego se casó con su compañera de vida, Ada Ricci, el 19 de Junio de 1971, a quien cariñosamente se refería como "Chiquita". Como inmigrante Peruano, Alfonso tenía una verdadera pasión por vivir una ética de trabajo disciplinada para brindar el sueño americano a su esposa y cuatro hijos (Paola, Carla, Magali y Alfonso Jr.).

Después de la jubilación, se podía encontrar a Alfonso pasando tiempo con su familia y sus seis nietos, quienes eran la niña de sus ojos. También disfrutaba de la jardinería, viendo su deporte favorito de futbol soccer en la televisión o asistiendo a eventos deportivos de sus muchos nietos. Le gustaba mantenerse activo caminando e yendo al gimnasio y fue un atleta de toda la vida; haciendo ejercicios hasta sus últimos días de vida. También participó activamente en reuniones mensuales con excompañeros de fútbol de los años que pasó jugando con el “Incas Soccer Club”, una liga local en Los Ángeles. Era un buen amigo y se mantuvo en comunicación con muchos amigos de toda la vida.

Extrañaremos por siempre a nuestro Chueco, Papi y Nonno…..“Tu presencia, extrañamos, tus recuerdos atesoramos, amándote siempre, olvidándote nunca.”
