Age 97, passed away on February 18, 2015. Alden was born in Minneapolis, Mn.; January 13, 1918. 1939 Graduate, University of Minnesota: Chemical Engineering. 1940 - 1946, U.S. Army, WW II. 1946-1950, Petroleum Engineering. 1951, University of So. CA: Masters, Education. 1951-1979, LA Unified School District; Teacher, Junior High School Math. 1979-1982, Diaconate training & Ordination, Archdiocese of Los Angeles. From 1982 Deacon St. Barnabas Church and Volunteer at Catholic Charities & Disabled Resources Center. Alden was preceded in death by his parents, 3 siblings, and son Peter. He is survived by children, Christine & Michael; 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Services will be held in Long Beach St. Barnabas Catholic Church, Saturday, February 28 at 2 p.m., followed by a reception on location.
