Albert Rodger Pezone

Albert R. Pezone, born April 29, 1947, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on November 24, 2023.

He was a graduate of New Castle High School. Following high school, he worked in the steel mill before joining the U.S. military in 1966 where he proudly served in the U.S. Navy for four years in the engine rooms of two different ships, the U.S.S. Ashtabula and the U.S.S. Pollux, during the Vietnam War.

His favorite pastimes included wood carving and making furniture, spending time with his family, camping, and watching sports. He was a good teacher and coach of baseball, basketball, soccer, and softball. He loved to laugh and loved making others laugh.  He could fix anything. He enjoyed good food especially spicy food. He despised onions but he loved onion rings.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and brother. He is survived by his wife, Pamela of 51 years; his children, Kristen (and her husband, Greg), Michael (and his wife Anne), and Elizabeth; his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Katherine, Dylan, and Isabel; and his brother, Anthony (and his wife, Judi).  He is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Betty, and several dogs whom he loved very much.

A memorial service to celebrate Albert’s life will be held on Saturday December 16, 2023, 3pm at St. Thomas Episcopal Church 5306 East Arbor Road. Long Beach, CA 90808.
